Minfound Medical Attends the 40th Anniversary of the China Cancer Foundation and the First National Tumor Charity Conference
On November 23, 2024, the China Cancer Foundation celebrated its 40th anniversary alongside the First National Tumor Charity Conference, the 10th China Lung Cancer North-South Summit Forum, and the founding meeting of the National Tobacco Control and Lung Cancer Prevention Collaboration Group. The events, held at the Beijing International Hotel Conference Center, centered around the theme “Working Together with Kindness and Persistence.” The conference aimed to implement the directives of the Third Plenary Session of the 20th CPC Central Committee, advance cancer prevention and control efforts, and work collectively toward achieving the Healthy China 2030 vision.

Key attendees included He Wei, Vice Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress and Chairman of the Central Committee of the China Farmers and Workers Party; Guo Yanhong, Deputy Director of the National Health Commission; Zhang Yong, Chairman of the China Cancer Foundation; and Huo Qiwen, Vice President of the Hong Kong Huo Yingdong Group and Director of the Huo Yingdong Foundation. Over 600 participants, including representatives from medical institutions, social organizations, enterprises, experts, and media, gathered to support the cause.
During the opening ceremony of the 10th China Lung Cancer North-South Summit Forum, Professor Zhi Xiuyi, Deputy Secretary-General of the China Cancer Foundation, announced the establishment of the "National Tobacco Control and Lung Cancer Prevention Collaboration Group" and launched a national initiative on lung cancer screening and early diagnosis. The "Lung Cancer Early Screening and Early Diagnosis Project" was formally inaugurated, with Zhang Yong, Zhi Xiuyi, Professor Gao Shugeng, and Wang Yaofa, Chairman of Minfound Medical, attending the launch ceremony.

Academician Sun Yan, Vice Chairman of the China Cancer Foundation and a pioneer in oncology, emphasized in his speech that significant efforts are still needed to strengthen tobacco control and improve early cancer detection in rural areas. Academician Zhong Nanshan, a renowned respiratory medicine expert and recipient of the Medal of the Republic, underscored the severity of lung cancer as a leading threat to human health in China. He highlighted the need for integrating medicine with advanced technologies such as big data and artificial intelligence, alongside the collaborative efforts of experts in respiratory medicine, thoracic surgery, and imaging.
Zhi Xiuyi, Director of the Lung Cancer Diagnosis and Treatment Center at Capital Medical University, called for consensus-building and standardizing clinical practices. He advocated for utilizing innovative technologies, improved medications, and updated guidelines to better serve lung cancer patients.
